Here’s a list of some of the upcoming concerts happening around New York City this coming week we highly recommend you check out:
The Mountain Goats @ White Eagle Hall (11/10) and Brooklyn Steel (11/12)
John Darnielle’s long-running literary folk rock band comes to the area this weekend with shows in Jersey City and Brooklyn, in support of their great new album, “Goths.”
Slowdive @ Terminal 5 (11/12)
The seminal shoegaze band released their excellent, first new album in over 20 years this past May. It’s the place to be this weekend if you love loud, distorted guitars and ethereal vocals.
This Will Destroy You @ Knitting Factory (11/14)
The post-rock band are still going strong, conveying emotions through their entirely instrumental arrangements that build from ambient soundscapes to thunderous climaxes.
Hot Snakes @ Bell House (11/16)
This post-hardcore band made up of the members of Drive Like Jehu / Rocket From the Crypt / Obits (Rick Froberg and John Reis) sound like the musical equivalent of getting your teeth kicked in. They don’t come around often, so they are not to be missed.
